From the hospital where Jonathan M. Daniels was born, to his grave, this tour takes you on a 1-2 hour tour to important markers in the life of civil rights martyr Jonathan Daniels. In addition, the scenic Jonathan Daniels trail is part of the Ashuelot River Trail system where you can enjoy some nature in the middle of the city and learn about civil rights legislation and actions since 1965. Sculpture, stained glass and other memorials to Jonathan Daniels are also featured. The first stop on the tour, the Historical Society of Cheshire County at the Ball Mansion, you can visit the Jonathan Daniels Center for Social Responsibility which houses the Jonathan Daniels Museum, and peruse limited archived materials. Across the street, at Keene State College, the Mason Library houses the remainder of his archives as well as the archives from the making of the movie “Here Am I. Send me. The story of Jonathan Daniels”.
